Inventing new models for sustainable transport

Optimising traffic flows and promoting the energy transition among our partners

Pooling, the flows mutualisation solution
FM Logistic is one of the pioneers of “pooling”, which involves sharing logistics resources (storage space, transport capacity) and grouping together the flows of several clients.

The Pooling is a solution that unites the logistic and transport processes of several manufacturers. This solution was developed and improved on by FM Logistic since the early 2000s.

We seek to step up the transition towards cleaner modes of delivery

  • 56%
des flux de transport en Euro 5 ou plus, ou fonctionnant à des moyens de propulsion alternatifs (électrique, gaz, hydrogène)
  • 500
utilitaires électriques, gaz ou hydrogène déployés dans le Groupe

FM Logistic also supports its customers and partners in their energy transition approach.

We allow our customers to visualise the environmental footprint of their transport services and so identify their principal means of action. To do so, we use the EcoTransIT World solution, a tool intended for carriers, logistics service providers and consignors whose GLEC (Global Logistic Emissions council) certified methodology serves to calculate the carbon footprint and environmental impact of the transport of goods.

One of our objectives is to enhance the customer path by providing them with an annual carbon assessment of their transport activities based on the EcoTransit method. Together, we define objectives for reducing the environmental footprint of the supply chain by proposing sustainable offers.

Our vision of the future for alternative energies in the transport of goods

Source: terre-tlf

The future of transport does not boil down to the use of a single alternative energy, rather a mix of alternatives that may well develop over time.

Basically, this diagram shows us that biofuels, electric power and hydrogen will complement one another in response to different uses. Over the course of time, the presence of diesel in transport operations is set to decrease to the benefit of fuels that are more neutral in terms of carbon and fine particles.

We also use these clean energies, in particular electric and hydrogen, to decarbonise our warehouses with the goal of reaching zero emission for our platforms by 2030.
